This Giving Tuesday, Orson and Welles need your help.

When we learned about two potbelly pigs abandoned on a nearby farm, and we knew we had to help. Orson and Welles were nervous and scared, but with time, they settled into life at City Goat Farm, offering comfort to our hospice animals and befriending Pele, a lonely hen. Every night, they curled up together to sleep.

Knowing we lacked the facilities to house them permanently, we spent over a year looking for a home for them. We thought we had finally found the right fit, but the stress of the move caused these inseparable friends to turn on each other. They began fighting, and despite our efforts to rebuild their trust, their safety remains at risk. Just last week, a snowstorm knocked down the fence separating them, resulting in another fight that left Orson injured and limping.

Now, we face a harsh reality: Orson and Welles have no other options.

Their history and behavior make adoption unlikely, and their size and strength require specialized care. We are committed to giving them a safe, secure home here at City Goat Farm—but we urgently need your help.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re launching an emergency campaign to raise $5,000 to build the facilities they desperately need to live peacefully for the rest of their lives. Thanks to a donation by our founder, every dollar you give will be matched up to $2,500—doubling your impact.

Your gift will help us:

  • Rebuild our barn to safely house Orson and Welles separately
  • Create secure outdoor areas tailored to their needs
  • Install drainage systems to keep their living spaces clean and dry

Orson and Welles never had a chance at a peaceful life—until now. With your support, we can provide them with a safe and permanent home where they can heal and thrive.

Will you help us give Orson and Welles the home they deserve?

Thank you for believing in second chances and for supporting animals like Orson and Welles. Your support means everything to us, and them.

City Goat Farm is a registered nonprofit, and your donation is tax-deductible.
